Josephine Wall makes her home in England, in a charming house called Wisteria Cottage. From her studio, she can survey the countryside from which she draws inspiration and breathes in the scent of 70-year-old wisteria vines from her English garden. Since the age of four, she has been sure of her calling. Jo’s paintings, though fantasies are based on observation of nature, the preservation of which is a subject close to her heart. She counts among her influences Arthur Rackham, the surrealist Magritte, and the pre-Raphaelites. In her unique style, she produces images that are thought-provoking and stir the imagination. It is essential to her that people do not become bored - thus, she paints in great detail and nearly always hides creatures, faces, and other items within the painting, in hopes that seeking them out will provide years of enjoyment. People often ‘find’ things that are not intentionally there! Painting and Art are more than a career to Josephine Wall; it’s an all-consuming obsession with so many images in mind.
