DeBrekht, who first introduced a combination of distinctive wood hand-carving and multi-layer decorative painting. Our concept has become a G. DeBrekht trademark and we uphold its tradition in creating the superior collection of distinguished, handcrafted decorative art sculptures that you will find in this catalog – the Original G. DeBrekht Masterpiece Collection... Our studio has worked passionately with every new concept, design, carving, color choice, and paint stroke. We are home to the best and brightest international artists, hand—carvers, and freehand painters. G. DeBrekht Artistic Studios has remained committed to Old World craftsmanship, resisting the trend to automate the production process, yet continues to be the most innovative design and creation. Each piece will have spent countless hours in the hands of our talented artists. Quality continues to be our top priority, though no two pieces will ever be identical! Each sculpture in the Original Masterpiece Collection is first hand-carved from aged linden wood by the master carver. The seasoning process will cull the premium quality portions of the wood for carving while discarding approximately 60% of the timber due to splitting, molding, or other imperfections revealed during the aging process. The sculpture then travels to the painter, and sometimes, as many as five artists will contribute their artistic ability to complete a single piece. Each figure is meticulously freehand painted by applying layer upon layer of watercolor, acrylic, or other paint until the desired depth of color has been achieved. Each artisan relies on their skill in pursuit of perfection. Each piece is limited either to the year of production or by number, indicated on the bottom of each sculpture on the Certificate of Authenticity. A special G. DeBrekht medallion accompanies each piece. The collection itself is limited by the nature of the handcrafted work, limited by the number we can produce at any given time. Each Masterpiece is an original work of art and should be cared for. Avoid placing these sculptures in direct sunlight. Dust figurines with a soft feather duster or soft cloth. Do not apply household cleaning agents or rub them vigorously. Be proud of your G. DeBrekht art, display it in a place of importance, and it will repay you many times. Enjoy it!
